OSCRE  2009 Achievement Summary
- Nancy Johnson Sanquist, IFMA Fellow, VP of Marketing & Communications, Manhattan Software

The biggest event that happened to the standards group OSCRE this year was the merger of OSCRE Americas and the UK’s PISCES to form one global organization for the creation of real estate industry interoperability standards.  More details on this exciting merger will follow in the coming months.  Other events of 2009 included:

  • An expanded adoption and case study development for Space Classifications.
  • These standards were incorporated into an Omniclass table for Space Use and Building Type.
  • A revision and update to the Lease Abstract Exchange 1.1 to incorporate Green and Sustainability leasing concepts.
  • A plan for continuation of lease domain standards and demonstrations moving into Lease Administration phase exchanges.
  • Initiation of real estate investor-focused discussion groups.
  • Creation of a new Interest Group for Facility Management Services Exchange Standardization with coordination with EU/UK FM developments.
  • Compliance activity for Lease Abstract Exchange v1.1., Work Request and Work Order Fulfillment and Space Classifications.
  • Beginning work with Member organizations supporting investigations into the role of standardization in IT streamlining projects.

Manhattan will continue to support OSCRE developments in 2010 and incorporate standards into the software, where appropriate.
